Response to SSS Questions
I decided to come to college because I didn't want to be the one to bring disappointment to my parents. I never really had an option but that's totally fine. I don't think I could experience life without trying to get the best education I am capable of. I don't even know what I would have done if I had chosen not to come to college. Instead of all this worrying and angst over my future, I suppose I took the easy way out and chose to come to college. I chose to attend Converse College because that it was the best choice for me. There is a wonderful music program and that definetely played a big part in my choosing to come here, but the atmosphere just feels a little like home for me. Of course my parents loved this school and I don't think I would have had the guts to go against their wishes. I decided to study music at Converse because I'm not really very good at anything else. I mean, there are things that I am good at but not at the level that I play piano. I was lucky enough to earn a scholarship just for playing the piano as well and I don't think I would have been rewarded with that scholarship if I had performed any of my other "talents". I am not actually a fan of bread. I will eat it if I have nothing else to eat, but I would most assuredly prefer to eat cereal for the rest of my life instead of sandwiches.

Welcome to Converse and our Student Success Seminar, Cicee! I'm so glad you're here--your enthusiasm is fabulous, and I think that you'll find this is a place that you can start to forge your own path. I think you'll find, though, that coming to college is hardly "taking the easy way out"--or have you already been introduced to MacGamut? :-)
ReplyDeleteAs to the blog writing, do be sure to proofread and edit what you write (it's "definitely," not "definetely.") And start thinking a bit more critically about the visual elements of what you put out there--the pink on black on white text LOOKS cool, but it can be rather hard to read. I'm not telling you that you have to change it--it's your blog--but start considering that what you do COMMUNICATES TO SOMEONE ELSE. Just like piano music.
